I am interested in your HomeCare services, but how do I know that your services are right for my senior family member or me? Will I have to sign a contract for these services?
When you contact us about our HomeCare service, an experienced staff person will come to your home or that of your senior family member to do an assessment. We will meet with the senior and his/her family or friends, if desired, to talk about the senior’s needs and what services are available from the Family Service Senior Resource Center. If you agree at that time that our services are appropriate, we will prepare an agreement that states what services will be provided, hours of service, and the fees to be charged for these services. This agreement can be modified as the senior’s needs change and does not commit you to continuing with our services, which can be cancelled at any time.

How can I sign up for the Food for Seniors program, which is sponsored by the Stevick Senior Center?
Call the Family Service Senior Resource Center at (217) 352-5100. Our staff will provide information about the program and screen prospective clients for eligibility. This program is limited in the number of seniors that can be served, and there may be a waiting list. However, our staff will also work with you to locate other emergency food assistance if you cannot immediately receive service from Food for Seniors.

I am a senior who is already involved in volunteer work in the community. If I become a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), can the volunteer work I am already doing be counted toward my RSVP volunteer hours and may I receive member benefits for this work?
In many cases the answer is yes. You do not have to be placed in your volunteer position through RSVP in order to count those hours and receive member benefits. However, some volunteer work, such as working for a church, political organization, or a for-profit business cannot be counted toward RSVP volunteer hours.
