Family Caregiving Skills Class

Purpose

More and more older adults are relying on their family and friends to assist them as they age comfortably at home as long as possible. So we’re offering family caregivers the same information, training and tools we provide our professional caregivers at no charge.

Target Audience

Anyone living in Champaign, Piatt or Douglas counties caring for a senior family member or friend on a personal rather than a professional (paid) basis.

Class Structure

This is a 4-day class usually taught on a monthly basis. Family or Friend Caregivers are invited to join us in the afternoons. Every afternoon features four to five sessions with each session addressing a different topic. Since each family’s challenges and needs are unique, family/friend caregivers may attend every session or just the ones that apply to your situation best. Contact Yvonne at 217-352-5100 to sign up and learn about days and specific times for the session you want to attend.
